Hi there, I'm Ava
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Springfield, United States.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and rapidly grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, met other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built River Quartz Lumen
Most online content skewed toward corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family point of view.
This website aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance rooted in real life in United States.
What this site does (and doesn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on insight from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when there is a meaningful change
This site isn’t:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- Not a platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Springfield or anywhere in United States, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ava
